VILLAGE PLAYERS SEASON UPDATE: REGROUP AND REPLAN!
Our friends may remember that we had planned a mini-season for the first 5 months of 2022. The first play, The Impossibility of Now (such an appropriate title!) had been due to open on 21st January. With the health and safety of our patrons, cast and crew in mind, that show was rescheduled – it delighted audiences in March-April and is now complete.
Our season is continuing with the following plays AND a series of directed and rehearsed PWYC zoom plays:
The 39 Steps: May 4 to 21, 2022.
Gloria’s Guy: July 8 to 30, 2022.
With the comfort and safety of our patrons always on our mind, mask and proof-of-vaccination requirements are still in place for all performances and the theatre provides a number of shows with 50% capacity to allow physical distancing. Audiences benefit from our updated AC and ventilation to bring in fresh air from outside, with UVC purification (designed for hospitals) to kill viruses in the air. Doors remain closed until 45 minutes before show time to prevent congestion in the lobby.
As an audience member said:
“It is so nice to be in an actual theatre again. And I felt perfectly safe with all the precautions you’ve taken. Lovely show.”

In the first year of the pandemic we gave away volunteer-made cloth face masks with a Village logo decal to our patrons and volunteers. Here’s a composite photo with some happy (and masked) recipients.
If anyone wants a mask, please send a stamped, self-addressed envelope (SASE) with postage to cover the mailing – about $1.50 – to the theatre and we’ll mail you off two.
If you have some of these logo masks already and you would like more, please send a SASE and $5 for each mask.
See mailing address here.

In the meantime, have a look at some of our past seasons. Just click on one of the images below, and read more about that season and all the plays in it…
