Shelley Scarrow as Chris Gorman. Shelley sends her deepest thanks to Anne, the producing team, crew, and cast for the incredible support in her return to the stage after a long, long absence. A proud York Theatre grad, Shelley works as a screenwriter. Love to J & G & G for making their own dinners for months.

Damien Gulde as Ken Gorman. Actor, director, writer, Damien has appeared on stages and screens across the GTA since the age of seven. You might recognise him from Village Players’ 2024 Social Security or 2014 Lady Windermere’s Fan, or elsewhere as Romeo, Nick Arnstein, Sherlock Holmes, the Nutcracker, or Alexey Baranova (The Burden of Genius).

Sandy Ramdin as Claire Ganz. Sandy has been acting since the age of nine. She got her start in theatre with the Die in Debt production of Romeo and Juliet and the LLP production of MacBeth. Her most recent work was in Social Security with Village Players and she is grateful to be in Rumors.

Jerry Logan as Lenny Ganz. Jerry’s favourite playwright is Neil Simon so he had little choice but to audition for Rumors. Having previously played a character in Simon’s London Suite with a debilitating back injury, it seemed fitting to portray Leonard Ganz, a man with whiplash. Making the audience laugh through Lenny’s pain is Jerry’s goal.

Deena Baltman as Cookie Cusack. Previously at Village Playhouse: Amanda in The Glass Menagerie, Melissa in Love Letters, and Pam in Silver Dagger. Other credits include Two Small Bodies (Toronto Fringe Festival), Steel Magnolias (Gryphon Theatre), and The Caine Mutiny (Canadian Stage). Deep gratitude to our superb costume/set designers, backstage staff, and my ever-supportive home team!

Cameron Mitchell as Ernie Cusack. Cameron is thrilled to be part of the cast of Rumors. This is his second production with the Village Players, after playing Isaac Jagger/Ed Knight in last season’s Book of Will. Cameron has previously appeared in productions of The Desperate Hours, Oz! and Pride and Prejudice with Theatre Aurora.

Arleigh Curran as Cassie Cooper. Award-winning funny lady, Arleigh is excited to be on the Village Playhouse stage so soon after The Book of Will. Other favourite roles: Katya in Gibson & Sons, Brooke Ashton/Vicki in Noises Off, both with Milton Players. She is a Capricorn with 100 house plants and 2 orange cats. Xoxo

David Planche as Glenn Cooper. David’s passion for theatre started at the age of 7 when he insisted on crashing his older sister‘s audition for a local musical. He’s excited to be back on stage in his first post-pandemic show. “I firmly believe that comedy is the cure for all the world’s problems.” ~Neil Simon

Livia Pravato as Officer Pudney. This is Livia’s 2nd acting role in a Neil Simon play with the Village Players, since The Prisoner of 2nd Avenue (2022) as Jessie, the weepy sister. Livia actually did the sound design for Rumors back in 1998 and is ecstatic to be part of this hilarious show once again.

Matthew Taylor as Officer Welch. Matt has been working in and around acting, improv, and comedy for almost a decade now and can’t seem to stop. The Village Playhouse is one of his favourite theatres to perform in and he is very happy to return and perform once more! On with the Show!
