Andrew Batten as Jim Madden
Andrew has appeared at the Village in Absurd Person Singular, The Long Weekend and Opening Night. Other recent performances include Les Liaisons Dangeureuses (Amicus Theatre), This, August: Osage County, Hedda Gabler and Sylvia (Alumnae Theatre). Andrew’s new play The Sad Blisters will be presented in fall 2018. Thank you, Debbie – so glad I found you again.
Jess L. Callaghan as Pearl Atkinson
Jess is a hard of hearing, genderqueer performing artist, musician, actor, and model for stage screen based out of Toronto. They are a graduate of St. Clair College and Capilano University’s performing arts college diploma and degree programs. Jess is absolutely thrilled to be joining the Village Players for the second time.
Peta Mary Bailey as Maudie Madden
Peta is thrilled to be making her Village Players debut with this incredibly talented cast and crew. She had the privilege of working with Amicus Productions in Quiet Courage, Sense and Sensibility, and Villette. She also loved working with Scarborough Players in Deathtrap and with East Side Players in Joyful Noise. Many thanks to Victoria, Theresa and Diane for this excellent opportunity.
Chris O’Bray as Frank Haynes
First show with the Village Players. After a lengthy hiatus from theatre (various improv/cabaret dabblings aside), Chris returned to the stage this year as Lurch in The Addams Family Musical with Scarborough Music Theatre and is thrilled to be part of Tainted Justice. Originally from Vancouver, Chris now lives in Toronto and can often be seen in the background of various TV shows.
Rob McMullan as Hearn
Tainted Justice marks Rob’s 11th show at the Playhouse, first seen in 1983’s Exit the Body, then Season’s Greetings (1987 with Rob Candy), most recently Absurd Person Singular (with Andrew Batten). Rob trained at the University of Windsor and has acted in various venues in the GTA. It has been a wonderful experience working with such a talented cast and crew with Victoria directing.
Katherine Anne Fairfoul as Tena Atkinson
Katherine Anne is excited to be acting with the Village Players for the first time. Past plays include Richard III, Going Postal, Who’s in Bed with the Butler and many others, together with film and television work. Gratitude to each talented professional on the Tainted team and to my ever-patient family.
Dennis Mockler as Ben Atkinson
Dennis is a graduate of Ryerson University’s intensive conservatory program. He has performed in a wide variety of roles but most recently at the Village Players in Nuts, The Unexpected Guest and Who Killed Santa Claus. Dennis would like to thank The Village Playhouse, his family and friends for all their support.
Rob Candy as Bill Madden
Rob has appeared at the Village in 25 plays over 30 years, most recently, Mr Pim Passes By and Strictly Murder. Elsewhere he has worked recently with Alumnae (August: Osage County, Blood Relations), Amicus (Sense and Sensibility) and East Side Players (Joyful Noise).
