Village Players COVID-19 Safety Plan for Volunteers
Updated January 23, 2024

Volunteer Safety
In addition to the safety protocols outlined for patrons:
- We want you to feel safe and secure volunteering with your theatre. If you have any questions or concerns, please raise them with the Producer of the show on which you are working and please remember that volunteering is voluntary!
- Please contact your Producer if you have COVID symptoms or test positive. Include any information you have on when you became infected or were exposed. We will look after notifying anyone with whom you may have been in contact at the theatre. We will only divulge your name with your permission.
- You may NOT return to the theatre until your symptoms have started to improve for at least 24 hours (or 48 hours if you have gastrointestinal symptoms). Once feeling better, confirm your actual return date with your Producer.
- Wearing a mask upon return is required for a period of 10 days from the earlier of testing positive or when your symptoms first started. If you are a CAST MEMBER, your Producer, in discussion with the Stage Manager and the Village Playhouse Board (Board), will decide whether you should: 1) perform masked during this period, 2) use an alternate actor (likely on-book) or 3) cancel performance(s). Regardless, returning cast members are required to be masked when not on stage.
- If you have been exposed to someone with Covid but have no symptoms, please also contact us. Your Producer will determine, in consultation with cast members, the stage manager and the Board, what restrictions are appropriate to safeguard volunteers. You may be asked to stay away for a few days to see if you develop symptoms and wear at the theatre for 10 days.
- Masks are required for ALL audience-facing crew members, front of house volunteers, and cast members (when visiting the lobby) during mask-designated performances.
- We encourage you to get tested if you have COVID symptoms, live with someone or have encountered someone who has symptoms or tested positive.
- Thank you for supporting our efforts to make patron and volunteer safety a priority.
